About Sapphire cross

There is artwork hidden everywhere, underneath the cobwebs of generations in attics and garages, deep in the belly of art galleries, and in local coops and studios of regional artists.

Sapphire Cross, founded in 2010, seeks to bring these works to light and connect the pieces with people who will find value in them. Specifically, Sapphire Cross highlights work depicting rural America--cattle & cattlemen, oil & gas, and outdoor sporting.

Founder and Owner, Scott Strickland, was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, nestled between the once-booming cattle yards and an appreciation of fine art. In his early years, he was exposed to rural life from the small farming communities of northern Missouri to the wide open red plains of Oklahoma, leaving him with a love for all things pastoral, especially cattle.

With Sapphire Cross, Strickland sets out to connect fine art with people who appreciate art, but not traditional art galleries; bring high quality contemporary art with a regional following to a wider audience; and bring art buried in basements out of the shadows to the the mantel of someone’s home.

Sapphire Cross believes in small and local artists, and believes in linking those artists to their audience. If you are an artist and would like to submit your work to be featured at Sapphire Cross, please do so here. We also connect people with a complete line of art preservation, conservation, appraisal and storage solutions. Contact us to find out more.
